i spent a few nights thinking jeff the killer was around every corner. i would go around a dark corner and jeff the killers face would be imagined in front of me, this was before it was scrubbed and the cropped version put up.
took a few years until it happened again, but this time i had some basic biology so i was able to out think my own fear.
Could not find the light switch in the main compressor room for the local grocery store made it five steps and did not return, fired shortly after.
camping in the desert pops left to take a call did not come back until morning there were animals fucking with the tent through out the night bailed to another parents tent, label a bitch after that, name stuck.
father and i went climbing came to a fork in the road decide to race back to camp by splitting at the fork spent an hour or two lost in desert as the sun was setting, in hindsight father did not want to spend anytime with me despite packing paying for and planning trips I often relyed on the kindness of other parents, he was voted leader a few years later.

I worked security for many years in different "spooky" places. Have a few Oh fuck and some weird stories.

The most haunted place I ever worked was an apartment complex built next to a cemetery. The first night there, around 1 or 2am, my trainer took me to the back parking that ran along the fence line dividing the prop from the cemetery. He told me to stand there looking along the fence and wait. I stood there for a minute or so and people started walking through the fence going into the complex and back again. Like a lot of people. Just walked straight through the fence, across the parking lot and disappeared. Some time later I was told not to go in the clubhouse after lights out. One of my coworkers said he went in to use the restroom, locked the doors behind him, and while in the stall someone entered the stall next to him and started laughing. He said it sounded like a kid. I decided to check it out for myself and went in after the auto lights turned off. I sat a for about half and hour then several footsteps started running across the upper floor and I heard kids laughing. Got the fuck out.

Another apartment I worked at had an underground garage. The other guards told me a little girl played in the garage who wasn't actually there. One day I went into the garage, it ended at a concrete wall with concrete walls on either side going back past me and no cars. Just an open space at a dead end. I turned the corner and there was a girl in a dress playing with a ball at the back wall. I started walking down there and she disappeared.

I stopped off at a rest stop to get some sleep. I woke up sometime about sun rise to see a woman's head floating over me. It passed over and went through the back of the cab. I was so startled I swung my fist at it. Fist went right through and hit the cab.
