Given the - generously put - subpar quality of this board as of late, I propose a classic thread to bring a pinch of merriment and cheer to this evening. What say you gentlemen to a thread in which we exchange pleasantries in polite and formal parlance, yet in the instance an anon gets trips, we dispense with the façade that we are civilized men and instead launch banal insults toward one another, as simians do with their own dung? I feel as though such a thread will bode well, and I hope that this fine body of men with which I share this imageboard with shall agree.

I find my views to align with that vision purported by the original poster. Might I propse, as first topic of discussion, this pleasantly temperate weather we happen to find ourselves in during the usually tropical days of early August?

Indeed. Such threads were popular in older days, but have since fallen out of favor. Changing demographics and subsequeng appetites, perhaps?

Quite right, and it's been a good change of pace. This past July was much too humid for my liking.

Careful, we nearly had an end to this thread's pleasantries! Quite the near miss, if I should say so.

Jolly good time, ol' chap. At least where I am concerned, this is a fairly novel proposal that I am unaccustomed to encountering here, and any attempt at an interaction beyond the mundane is welcome. I am exhausted by the monotony of what 4chan has become.

Perhaps I've been out of participation in such threads for too long. I no longer concern myself with post numbers, which as I recall, was one of the most popular features of this website when I was a youth. I fear I've been watching from the sidelines, as it were, for far too great a time. In your experience, do the submission numbers advance more or less rapidly nowadays? I can imagine the answer going in either direction because, while there are fewer authentic participants, there are a good deal more automated postings.

Speaking succintly, it's been far too long since I have last regularly perused this board to make any sort of approximation of post rate that would align with either my own observations or the hard reality of the situation. However, if I were to throw my hat in the ring, I suspect that the post rate has declined on this particular imageboard. While automated posts surely make up a large portion of the contributions to the replies and even the threads which we may find in the catalog, I surmise that the greatest concentration of these bot posts are toward the large boards focused on more specific avenues of discussion, such as the video games and politically incorrect sections of the site. I will admit, that such an assertion is a posteriori as opposed to a priori, so take it witg a grain of salt.

Welcome to the thread, my good man. Make yourself at home. You've hit the nail quite squarely on the head in your last statement: the quality of content and discussion is in quite a sorry state on not just /b/ but on the whole of the site.
