Well while we were still walking all together by the lake it was sort of ok. We were used to walking around that area nude, and the odd strange look or smile from someone didnโt bother us too much. But when walking back my mother bumped into a few people she knew and started to chat. We were eager to get back as quick as possible and also get the worst part over with, so were pestering her to hurry up.
Because we were being annoying, she explained to those people what had happened to us like it was a funny accident. They actually werenโt too surprised seeing us naked, but when my mother explained what happened they found it funny. I donโt remember much of what they said, but they just giggled and remarked how unfortunate it was and how cute we looked acting all shy.
She didnโt stop once though, and the one I remember most vividly was her bumping into some friend from work. That friend was there with her daughter, who was the same age as my sister and so two years or so older than me and my brother. She laughed quite a lot when my mother explained our situation and kept asking if we really had to walk home like that. I remember her pressing as if she didnโt believe it and kept asking if we were really stuck naked. There wasnโt much teasing directly to us, but it still felt humiliating.
When we chose to run, I remember people shouting comments at us as we ran by. I didnโt hear all of them and donโt remember most of what was said, but I remember the usual ghasps of surprise and people suggesting we had lost our suits (something we wished we actually owned). The only comments I recall today was from some guy shouting โyou two are brave!โ and a mother pushing a pram who was very cross and told us we should be ashamed. But yeah, I blocked a lot of it out and just remember most people laughed.
