>they barely meet ends meet
Min wage is set up by the government to increase tax revenue. Putting people out of jobs doesn't not "meet ends meet" and kids don't have ends to meet anyway.
Corporations are greedy, but individuals are even more greedy, and that's a good thing. If you work at a Taco Bell and you get $10/hr, and the BK across the street is offering $12, where do you think the workers go? Now that Taco Bell has a staffing issue, what do you think they'll offer for a wage? It's a self-correcting problem. Every time there's a wage strike, it always ends up fucking the workers. There was that big UPS union strike a year or two ago, and they won, and you heard it all over the news. What you didn't hear is that they cut something like 22,000 jobs and closed 2000 locations. This is the same shit that burned out Detroit.
