Anyone had their bank account flagged for VPN use before? I have got an email from my bank asking why I have been visiting various countries (I never leave my house), and they need me to explain it to them or they'll close my account. Do these boomers really not know what a VPN is?

I called em and they said my account hasn't been flagged for fraud and that I should ignore the email and just keep an eye on my transactions in the meantime. The weird thing is that the email is 100% legit. It came from my bank. It must be some shitty AI algorithm spergout.

Have you pissed off anyone powerful recently, or been vocal about political stuff online? It wouldn't be the first time bank accounts have been closed for spurious reasons to neutralise someone.
