As someone who has worked with LLMs from before they became mainstream I could write an entire novel and what they are and are not useful for and why that is the case.
But I'll just say this: "AI" is not capable of doing many of the jobs people want it to do and the only reason it is getting pushed is because the people who created the corporations were really, really charismatic liars who sold the idea of "AI" to VCs who spent billions and now they are looking for places to shove it in to justify the price tag.

PS. Stop using the term "AI", because "AI" does not exist. They are LLMs.

Remember Akinator? People seemed to be fine with this stuff when it was still primitive, but the moment it gets good it's like a switch flipped in their heads and you can't even bring it up anymore without being called a jeet or a nazi, depending where you are at the moment. You clearly don't
Because that comic generator killed rageface comics.
4chan used to have whole threads of OC rageface comics and they were a blast. Then they became even a little bit popular, so someone made a rageface comic generator. I think it was on Icanhazcheezburger, or some similar website.
Within a fuckin week nobody wanted to make OC rageface comics anymore because fucking ***everyone*** could make one with minimal effort. Mind you, they were already minimal effort because most of them were literally cobbled together with copypasted ragefaces and MSPaint drawn bodies, but no, it had to be made EVEN EASIER because some fuckin retards couldn't be assed to even open MS Paint.

Comparing AI genned shit to the comic generator from back then is actually a perfect comparison and I don't think you even meant it to be.

Graphic Designer here, I'm actually getting more work lately due to AI
Zoomers and Boomers just suck ass at storing and compressing files in their cellphones, they aways lose or corrupt everything and call me to fix or vetorize something. They stated that they asked Chat GPT how to fix it themselves they refuse to learn new terminology or read anything longer than three paragraphs, people today can't even watch Youtube tutorials anymore
That's the scary part, people are not even able to properly ASK for robots to do things. I had a 20 something guy who did a back in forth of over 80 messages trying to ask the bot to increase the image's height, he didn't knew what vertical and horizontal meant

That's more or less correct, AI is a helper at best. It's good at shitting out small snippets, but collapses under its weight for anything beyond the scale of ~7 code files, because it's simply incapable of holding big enough context for that. There's a long way to go before managers can just put AI in front of a complex project documentation and watch it set up a whole codebase with all the needed integrations without any help from human programmers, or tell it to fix issues in a huge existing infrastructure.

Ai is definitely perfect for image and voice as in its does exactly what you want after a little tinkering. Music is like half good half bad, but really hard to get "hits" which is almost all everyone listens to. Code is REALLY good at simple things but bad with complex things so good for tinkerers but not enterprise software. Movies yea good luck with that, they look good but its not gonna be a full movie like with the writing and structure of what people consider a movie. Short little videos are definitely doable. In the 2000s, the waifu subgroup in the anime community had actual heated debates if dating Japanese women was on par with anime girls. This whole "no. the goal has always been to date a woman who acts like your waifu" is the biggest rewrite possible.
>no, actually the waifu community was some weird existential exercise where the waifu is always unattainable
lmao. On 2000s /a/, rich buyfags would purchase $10,000 mannequins to replicate their waifu. The famous Japanese guy that married Miku, tried talking to a software program everyday.
>no. we just drew our waifu
this is how I could immediately tell you didnt know what you were talking about. /a/ in the 2000s shat on every non Japanese artist. There was no "just learn to draw anime" because it was intuitively associated with fake weebs on deviantart. Not even Chinese or Korean "anime" artists were considered legit.

not really.
>I could see it replacing tiktok whores easily.
probably, an definitely ads that fool people into buying things. Even with several billion dollars and the entirety of human civilization pumped into it, thats the best it can do? SAD!

i dont think human beings will ever want that. people will always want to be in control.

How is a computer program going to pick up your drunk girlfriend and eat her pussy while you're passed out in the passengers seat?

More over, the thing these AI are always going to have trouble with is anticipating your whim. You are not a machine, you are a hairless ape that wears pants and pretends it's better than nature. You are irrational sometimes and reactionary. The AIs can get pretty good at predicting you, but to be human is to be unpredictable by our nature. an AI could theoretically get to know you so well it figures out you like Loli porn without you ever actually saying it or looking it up and then one day it suggests some to you and you would get pissed and tell it never to do that again because it might be true but its an aspect of yourself you do not like.

I love it AI. I work for an antiquated sector where one of our most vital systems is msdos. I use AI to automate most of my shit and spend the rest of the my free time playing games or small day trading. I get paid almost a six-figure salary for maybe 2 hours of work a day. What I make day trading pushes me over. I tried showing my boss how I use it, she pretty much said that she's close enough to retirement that she's just gonna coast until then. I'm next in line for her job and would be able to automate almost all of my tasks.

>few signs

yet thousands of job cuts in programming and design have been made leaving entire work forces stranded to find a job companies insists a robot can do better and cheaper.

>I need a landing page for my business along with a nice logo and the whole branding.
>Yes sir, it'll be $5k
>That's great, nice job kid, call me next month I have a client that's opening his second store and will need your creativity.

Whereas today:
>$5k? I'm gunna let my son do it with chatgeepeetee for free so I can save money. I don't need no greedy "artists" like you scam me.

The latest iteration of chatGPT seems almost arrogant in its ignorance.
I asked it to create a system of switches and gates in Fallout 4's manufacturing system to perform a task, and draw a diagram (essentially a virtual circuit using game mechanics).
It did, and I point out that part of it won't work because of a mistake it made, and suggest a correction to bypass the error.
I'm pretty sure it used to go "oh, I'm sorry, I see that now, here is the new version with your suggestion."
Now it argues and says that it knows it is correct and it will work.

I copied its suggestion in game, and it failed within 1 cycle at the exact point I thought it would.

After all a machine is just as intelligent as the stupiest user in front of it

Hey there! I'm a 21-year-old girl from the US, a bit on the curvy side and absolutely love taking the lead in flirty conversations. One of my favorite things is teasing guys until they can't take it anymore while I have a blast too. I'm a total night owl and always down for some steamy chats, but I struggle with social anxiety, which is why I'm all about connecting here. Way less pressure! If you're looking for some fun and naughty exchanges, hit me up. Add me on the app - my username is e-m a-q-uo-n x (just remember to remove the spaces and dashes)! Can't wait to chat!

But who's the artist in case of AI art? And if that person can donit with a prompt, other people will as well. Companies suddenly have too much money to spend on this crap and they will engage in a prompt war? Bro, no. This shit has zero value unoess they manage to gatekeep it somehow. Something that I believe they can't do.

The real measure of AI illustration is how well it can be used to replace things like wall decorations and corporate logo design. Art in museums was always the minority of workers in the field but its place as a status symbol means human-made art will win out even if AI makes a superior product (look at lab vs natural diamonds)
