Food is a need, not a right.

Rights are freedoms to protect from government.

For example, a right to:

1. Free speech
2. To bear arms
3. To a jury
4. To remain silent when arrested
5. To not have your property taken by government (no taxes)
5. Liberty

Goods and services like food, healthcare, education, and wifi are not rights. They must be provided by someone else, and you do not have a right to demand labor from someone else.

Anonymous No.938440528 >>938440828
>>938438925
That's wrong by the way.
In China, there's "corporations" that own all the houses. Citizens basically lease them. Of course, the gov actually controls how much these corps can charge for land/ property.

>I literally don't know anything about China
Chinese homes are 80-90% domestically owned. LAND in China is state owned, with leases on land lasting 40, 50, or 70 years, with leases on residential land defaulting to 70 years. The reason that 90% of these homes are owned by the Chinese that live in them is simple; at one point those homes WERE government owned, they built them as low income houses which were then privatized under China's strict price controls, and many homes were subsidized under the "Living not Profit" policies. Those price controls got more strict in 2020 with the "Three Red Lines" policy, but that's all stuff that's happened AFTER people have already bought their homes.
Most people believe China is almost entirely state owned, but 40% of businesses are not SOEs, and that makes sense, because a lot of foreign businesses operate in the Chinese borders.

>I'm literally retarded.
What did you say rights were?
"Freedoms you protect from government."
Let me ask the founders really quick:
"Hey Benny F, what's rights?"
Benjamin Franklin to Robert Morris, 25 December 1783
"All the Property that is necessary to a Man for the Conservation of the Individual & the Propagation of the Species, is his natural Right which none can justly deprive him of: But all Property superfluous to such purposes is the Property of the Publick, who by their Laws have created it, and who may therefore by other Laws dispose of it, whenever the Welfare of the Publick shall demand such Disposition"
>Rights are freedoms
Nope. Rights are rights, freedoms are freedoms. A right is something which cannot be morally taken from you. A freedom is that which can be morally taken from you, because it was bestowed upon you.
You have the freedom to speak how you see fit, but we don't call it the "right to absolute speech" because there are many many situations where you cannot speak freely.
This is why the "right to bear arms" is retarded. It should have been "Freedom to bear arms" because there should be circumstances where a firearm is absolutely not allowed.

>No taxes
Are you literally retarded? Why did the constitution specifically direct how taxes are to be administered if there are to be no taxes?
>Liberty
Define Liberty, you'll find a lot more rights UNENUMERATED, are suddenly covered by it.
>To bear arms
Isn't this distinctly the same as the right to food? You can effectively force someone to sell you a firearm, they can't deny the sale of a firearm to someone who can legally own one because they operate under government regulations, especially under a strict interpretation of the right to bear arms which is popular amongst 2A Republicans today, which is direct hypocrisy on your own part.
Inb4 "Those who would give up essential Liberty, to purchase a little temporary Safety, deserve neither Liberty nor Safety."
Yeah man, misquote more.

There is no right to food. The vote confirms it. Elections have consequences.
Anonymous No.938444329
>>938438519 (OP)
To make something a "Right" is to make it the responsibility of everyone to uphold for you. You can't be guaranteed something without the compliance of the community.
For the right to free speech, and right to bear arms, this is easy. All it demands from everyone else is that they not legislatively restrict your speech, or take away your legally obtained arms.
Food is a different story. It requires others to put in actual work to provide you food. Your right to food then turns into the compulsion of others to work for no personal gain for your benefit.

Why shouldn't basic survival be tied with work that provides value to society? Before civilization, everyone had to hunt and gather for their own food. There was no divine right to eat without earning it.
