It is discussion, reflections and at times conclusions. In the beginning it is clear that he is only discussing ownership of the means of production. Your ownership of your house or books is not taken into account, only the ability of a person to own someone elses means of production. And he is very clearly writing about factories.
Later, in Das Kapital, he (and by 'he' we are probably talking about Engels) is branching out in discussing complete removal of private property. But in the original German I think it is more likely that the property that is referred to, again and again, is land.

A fundamental change might absolutely be neccessary, but I think the basic ideas of cash and ownership are important for the functioning of a society. The transitive properties of tokenized effort is what allows for experts to efficiently do what they are good at rather than having to grow their own food.
