The US has superior tech but Trump is destroying the culture of the military 100% which includes the DOD employees that support bases and military families. Trump still makes high level DOD employees send those DOGE emails and with his national guard takeovers has frontline military people developing ways to avoid serving if called against US soil and civilians. China has clarity, expansion as a cause, and numbers. They arent better but they are better motivated and have something to fight for. The military always views presidents skpetically but after Iraq it was somewhat assumed we'd act more rationally and be better at diplomacy...and now we arent again.
