I am trying to decide between a cat and a dog tomorrow. I hope to adopt one, but I can't decide between the two.

Baby animal or grown (2+ years)? Baby cats are a pain in the fucking ass but they don’t piss or shit anywhere but their litter box. Baby dogs are better behavior wise after they are potty trained but that process can be frustrating. Have you owned a pet before? Also why are you asking these retards here?

A cat is probably better if you're lazy and just want a cute little thing to hug and pet whenever you want. A dog is probably better if you're willing to really dedicate yourself to spend time with it every day training it and playing with. That's basically what it comes down to i think.

Do you travel? It's easier to do so if you have cats. You can leave three days' worth of food in their bowl and an extra water dish and take off for a weekend. Dogs you have to board or get a house sitter.

Cats are not cleaner, they can be just as nasty and filthy.

Get a dog so you have to walk it which in turn will make you healthier as you have to go outside.

It depends on the animals age, but I’d say go for the cat. Nothing against dogs, but they’re usually higher maintenance and typically louder, though it all depends on the cat or dog.

Cats are masculine animals. They are independent and hate doing parlor tricks. They enjoy being respected and having a peaceful home.

Dogs are feminine animals. They are talkative, chaotic, and desperate for attention. They're basically like hairy women running around on all fours, except they enjoy eating poop.

Female dog. Both animals come with problems and cost money.
Kittens get the zoomies (including at night) and many cats break and scratch up shit for fun. There are three types of cats. Affectionate, aloof, and I hate everyone and everything forever. Aloof being the most common. Some like to sleep on your chest or face which makes trying to sleep while sick around them an issue. They shit and piss in your house. Male cats tend to spray the house in their ammonia smelling piss if you don't chop off their balls. A cat might just not care about you at all and will likely cut you at some point.
As for dogs they come in friendly, extra friendly, mean, gentle, rough, and hyper active. They also might have some hostility triggers like touching the food near them or grabbing them on the paws. Some like to play rough which involves their teeth. They might also shred furniture. Instead of pissing indoors you will need to take them outside more than once every day rain or snow. That is about an hour a day for the rest of their life. Most dogs eat more than cats too. The girl dogs normally cause less problems than male dogs in my experience.
