I live in DC. All the black people live in the east side. NE being the rich black people, SE being the poor black people.
I have no reason to go there and have not been there in years and I plan to keep it that way. All the important businesses, good restaurants, events, etc. are not in those areas except for Silver Spring.
Hospitals around here are actually shit due to terrible nurses (which are majority black). The doctors tend to be good though. My wife had problems after childbirth and was in and out of the hospitals for the first year, and holy shit did she run into problems with the nursing staff. The phlebotomist neither had the skill nor the patience to actually draw blood and kept injuring her night after night (she got her blood drawn every night). One nurse didn't hook up her IV to the correct pump (the pole had two pumps, and it was such a mess of tubing she plugged into the wrong one, my wife isn't retarded though so she noticed and the nurse argued with her for fucking 20 minutes until she saw that she did in fact fuck up). I could literally go on and on about half a dozen nurses during her one week stay that just objectively was shit at their jobs to the point where my wife's health could have been affected. Out of all the nurses she had, only one was good. Just look at the reviews of hospitals in the DC metro area. It's pathetic.

I was in DC on vacation one time, and pretty much every black person I encountered was rude as fuck. I've lived all around the country and traveled a lot for previous jobs, and I'd have to say DC has more rude people than most places. All the low-level workers definitely do not give a shit about anything, so your experience may not be black specific. I won't dismiss the possibility of it being black specific though. Like I said, all the nurses = garbage. I imagine low paid workers to be even worse.

DC guy here again. I graduated with a STEM degree and got a job before I even graduated. It wasn't that hard, and I wasn't even from a top tier school (I mean I guess technically it's top 100 national, top 50 public, but BARELY).
These girls have a skill you don't; networking and marketing themselves. If you had the opportunities they had, e.g. you were magically married to a rich woman who funded your startup and you were introduced to the right people at the right time, you still would very likely not be nearly as successful because all you had were STEM skills and nothing else.
For instance, I've been an engineer for more than a decade now and I see a lot of "good" engineers never getting past senior level because they have absolutely no skills aside from the very core of their discipline. No ability to manage other people (so they couldn't be engineering managers or PMs and especially not directors of engineering), no ability to talk to clients, no ability to talk to C-suites, and many couldn't even manage their own time. The greatest idea is useless if you can't communicate it to anyone. No matter what opportunities are given to people like this, and let me be clear this is the vast majority of STEM dudes, they will never progress past a certain point and certainly never be capable of founding a startup or whatever fuck these three girls did (I have no clue who they are).
