I am a 20 year old male currently in college. I'm majoring in Computer Science.

Today my mom told me that I need to apply for a job soon. I don't know if I can actually do it. My only option is a remote job in tech support making like $12 an hour. I'm very retarded and struggle having conversations with people. I don't know if I can actually handle the responsibilities of having a job. In school I've never made any friends, never had a girlfriend, none of it. I'm a fucking retarded sperg with no hopes but this is an expectation now and idk if I can deal with it

I worked at the same spot for 2 years now, im late atleast 2-3 times a week but my managers never said anything because when im at work I work really hard and I only take breakes when there is an offical break. Just grind it and you will be fine. Don't go for computer scienece because you will be replaced by AI within a few years.

do freelance or volunteer coding. you'll need something like that, multiple summer internships, and/or significant projects on github to get a job after graduating anyway.

This is my goal. That's why I want to work in tech support first. I think it's really my only option. Significant projects on github aren't sufficient for what I need to do now, though. They take a lot of time to make, and just serve as a portfolio fluff. They are good to have, of course, but employers value job experience above a lot.

1) Don't think a magic job will fall in your lap just because you posted your resume on linkedin.

2) Take that first job, and hunt for a new one *immediately*. If you want a pay raise, that's how you get it. You *must* change jobs, and you *must* continue getting educated.
