There's definitely more nuance to it. Unlike the Republicans, Democrats have more factionalism within in their ranks. This factionalism is why the party has no unifying vision and thus no real actionable ideas for Americans to get behind.
There's the progressives like AOC, Tlaib, Crockett, and Bernie Sanders, Crockett etc. This group is the only who actually cares to make the material life of the average American better. They've got vision and while some ideas are more "pie in the sky" like the Green New Deal, (although this is basically what China aiming to throughout the century.) they mean well and more or less want Americans to have as much economic agency as they can. They have vision at very at least.
The Dems are comprised of their old guard (corporate dems) Nancy Pelosi, Chuck Schumer, etc. These are the democrats senior (literally and professionally) party leaders. This faction is the biggest problem within the party. They staunchly support Israel, put businesses over the people and are slow to enact progress. When I say slow, I mean they won't even bother if unless their donation coffers start to run dry. This faction is functionally Blue MAGA. The ones who screamed about Trump's Russiagate, bring up Jan 6 every second, and are currently acting smug about the effects of Trump's Tariffs. They would happily tell you everything is getting better when it's actually getting worse. This is the boomer wing of the party.
Then there's the moderates and "centrist" like Hakeem Jefferies, Cory Booker, Fetterman etc. These are functionally the same as corporate dems. They're vocally pro-israel and would enact the same slow moving policy as their old guard just without focusing on the donations part. They're essentially the old guard who appeal to Gen-x and elder millennials
TLDR: Democrats are a relic party (literally) with no vision and no surprise why they are so unpopular in polls.
