If we ever get a offical sequel it should be now, as Portman is now similiar age as Reno was when the original movie was made,Matilda should be a Pro by that age, abd takes in a Kid in similar way to how Leon did, movie should be set in a country NOT Usa ,somewhere really dangerous with lots of crime ,South Africa maybe ? place with lot of hitman work, we are more likely to get a AI version tho,then a actual offical movie at this point.

I love the film so much because its really about the girl gaining her confidence and Leon finally gaining enough confidence to actually be more than a hitman.

The fact he resist sexoo makes it even more romantic because the tension is absolute, then many years in the future she will come to realize how amazing Leon really was.

Plant will fucking die in like a week under a tree there though.

It also resonates strongly with anyone who did not have a father growing up, Leon really replaced that figure strongly and I mean, anyone would want him as a dad.

Would not work and you miss the point. It does hold the standard master apprentice archtype, but its a much deeper film. The fact Matilda would be complete as a person in this position and a professional would fall flat.
