Alan Turing was gay and basically developed the idea of modern computation and helped turn the tides of WWII. What has the Trans community ever provided for humanity? When did they ever advance human knowledge and in a meaningful, helpful way?

just within the computer science realm

Honestly fair enough. I didn't think there would be anyone notable that wasn't just a gender studies professor

>Conway invented generalized dynamic instruction handling
"""invented"""
yeah, nah, this is one of those things that became an obvious need with a fairly obvious solution as processors became fast enough for it to be a performance bottleneck and people got tired of reinventing the wheel
dynamic instruction handling was already a thing
this is like "inventing" a standard rail gauge

There may have been countless comparable figures of the past who were simply not known to be gay, as they repressed it. Similarly, there may have been many male figures who made significant contributions to a field and who believed themselves to be women, but they repressed this as well. It's hard to know for sure, these were wildly different times. He was an exception to the rule, that's certain
