Always buy brand new furniture, never used or get them for free from a previous owner as those furniture are haunted and you're bringing a ghost into your home.

I worked in the warehouse(s) to a furniture store, and I always told customers to buy from cheaper stores or second hand if they asked me about prices and stuff.
Buying directly from the manafacturer is not always possible as they don't always ship to customers, but that depends on the manafacturer.
Furniture stores (in general) are scams of the highest order. If they offer to sell display items, then you can usually get a pretty hefty discount.

I'm saying whether you purchase furniture from the store or directly from a manufacturer, DO NOT pay for second-hand or your home will be haunted forever.

Both.
But they both overcharge you (provided that the manafacturer sells to you).
You can easily find cheap furniture that will last for years and years.
Most people are just retarded and treat their furniture like shit; slamming their asses down on their couches and stuff.

I buy from furniture stores mostly. Ikea, Harvey Norman and a few other local places. Plus I have a few pieces hading down to me from my parents.

Having worked at a warehouse for a furniture store. It's all the same pressboard garbage that the cheaper stores sell.
Do you honestly think they want to sell you a chair that will last longer than 5-10 years. Fuck no, they want your ass back in there buying another Lazyboy with the big fat warranty that will expire right as your chair is about to fail.

I get most of my stuff free from friends or snagged from places.
Anything else I can score at thrift stores or suck up and buy the cheapest one somewhere after my research.

I bought a recliner clearance priced for $100 and used it for 10 years. It was beat to hell by the time I threw it out.
Just go to goodwill.
