I only enjoy cracker barrel for the aesthetic. I could get the same level of quality food at many other restaurants if not better. The interior design change is worse then the logo change. I really feel this is cracker barrels end at least for me.

comes down to brand recognition & trying to capture as much market share as possible. if any demographic could be turned off by the old logo, why not replace it with something neutral? same for the sterile interiors you see everywhere—cheaper to build, evoke minimal reaction in customer base, and easy to flip the real estate if a franchise fails

Resident Evil for Gamecube is probably the closest logistically, as it was a lot of the main team that did the original, including the director, who went on record saying this was closer to the full vision they have, and used the original to dial it up to 10.
I still prefer the original, but no denying how much more the remake offers. and can be an appropriate start for someone who wants to start the series.
