I'm anti hick too but let's face it, we'd never have won this election without them. We've been poisoned for too long by a neoliberal vision of what this country is, and it's given us this notion that we're supposed to be some European-style egalitarian bastion where every being is guaranteed a living, and frankly it's laughable. It's caused us to think we don't have an obligation for service to our own country, that we're obligated to treat outsiders like our own, that we must grovel at the feet of beings we once had as servants and that we must respect the views who claim to "hate" this country but have no plans to go anywhere.

Hicks at least believe a solid narrative. Sure, we sell them lies and inaccuracies, but when you as a white man have regained your rightful wealth and security, will you be in your feelings?
