Why do they charge me over $7 for a cup of soup? I feel that's a little excessive even if it is good soup

Because people will pay for $7 for a cup of soup even if it's okay soup.

Soon enough you'll be praying to pay only $7 as this current government keeps going. You will own nothing and be happy.

Next time just say something like
>oh wow that's to high
And walk away

You don't plan on going back there either way and panera bread lost $2

thats a warning sign that they can change the prices at will and you cant do shit about it. if a place doesnt list prices then buyer beware.

Today, anon learned about inflation.
You've got pre-corona prices in the back of your head, but ever since then many prices basically doubled.
(Not that inflation exists under Trump)

because you pay it. also it's frozen soup reheated in bags in the rethermalizer. the caked on bits in the steam pans get scraped into the soup throughout the day. Panera is overpriced hospital food.

This is why I don't eat at Panera anymore. If they had prices (adjusted for inflation) and quality comparable to 20 years ago I would eat there, but they do not. They now fail to do the thing that made them into a big chain. They could have continued doing that and kept the same number of restaurants and just keep the profits, or increase dividends even, but they chose to cheap out and earn less money.

it was a one time mistake. in general, everyone should cut way back on eating out to send a message and punish these billion dollar corporations from ass raping us daily. in the past few years i have cut way back on eating out and i feel better physically, have lost weight, and learned to cook good things.

Who the fuck goes to Panera bread?

Why did you proceed to pay your total, after seeing the number on the screen?

I think you are part of the problem, OP. When we sit back, and act complicit, it becomes our own fault.

Sure a cup of soup may only be worth 4 bucks or less, but how many successful businesses are able to offer that? The costs of operating a restaurant and renting a space is so unreasonable right now the only way to succeed is to either be a chain or corporate thats able to cut costs, or do the millennial burger thing where you overcharge for everything. That combined with the fact so many people are using food delivery apps is hugely damaging the food industry on all levels, service people are out of a job and many restaurants have resorting to being ghost kitchens to stuff like mr beast burger in order to keep sales up because having a profitable store front has become so difficult.
