Is it really that crazy for some people to grasp the concept of doing things solo? I was talking to some co-workers and mentioned that I was going to a convention this weekend. They immediately asked who I was going with. I simply said I was going by myself, and everyone looked at me like I had kicked a puppy or something. Then they started telling me how they never really do stuff aloneeven basic things like going to the mall, getting food, or going for a walk on a trail. Apparently, I'm the odd one out for having no problem doing these things solo. Do most people really have a huge friend group that's always available to hang out at any given time? I could never imagine waiting around or skipping things I want to do just because no one is available to go with me.

I prefer to do things alone because ain't nobody got time for anyone else's bs and drama to ruin it for me. People just suck and true, so does co-dependency.

I suppose it just depends on one's personality.
I prefer to do most things alone.

That's part of why I never tell anyone what I'm doing in my spare time, nor do I ever request/accept 'help' on the work floor. People wanted a society of 'rugged individuals' who rely on no one, then bitch about it when they get that very society. Bootstraps and ultra-independence. People need to get used to it and stop whining.

I do everything alone, but you wouldnโ€™t catch me dead at a convention of any kind, or any venue that are typically frequented by couples or groups. On top of the dire social anxiety I attribute to probable dysautonomia, that shit just isnโ€™t appealing to me.
