No you can't, they track matrilineal and the matrilineal line can't be tracked thanks to genetics. You can only track the male line through the Y chromosome.

It's as simple as this, there's 3 X chromosomes and 1 Y chromosome between a couple. You can't track the X because there's just 3^2 possible C chromosomes from them to their parents, but there's only 1 Y chromosome from the man to his great (x50) grandfather.

DNA tests are just larps for idiots. Tracing of human populations is done through the Y chromosome only. Ancient women DNA is useless because of this.

That's why it can't be tracked.
The X chromosome from the woman can be from either of her parents, ending the possibility of tracking the matrilineal line.
The only thing you can do with women's DNA is cross reference a bunch of DNA and compare it to men's DNA to find overlaps to determine who the women are related to, roughly.

The Y chromosome is the only chromosome that is consistent between parent and offspring with no variation of who it's taken from.

Here's an example of tracking a males grandparents colour coded.
Only the Y is 100% inherited, mutated Y chromosomes basically end the genetic line for the Y chromosome in tracking it. Though with averages and lots of different DNA you can track what group of people the person belonged to before the mutation.
