Life is what you make of it. Your personality is set when you are born, based on the time, date, and location of your birth. Your life is then shaped by two things: Legacy and experience.
Legacy is what came before you—that you inherit. These are your genes and ability, your status and your environment. Later on, when you are older, your legacy becomes what you pass on to others either through genetics by having kids or by how people remember what you did in life. The only way to become slightly immortal is to be remembered, which is why ancient Gods were just people who were remembered.
Your experience is everything in your life that you adapt into part of you. If your dad takes you out fishing as a kid and you bond over it, you probably like fishing as an adult and continue to do it.
When you die, your body will decay, and your matter will be broken down and eventually make its way back into the biosphere to be repurposed in countless ways for all time.
As for what happens when we die, where we go? Its belief. If you believe you've lived a good life, and you believe in heaven, congratulations! You're going to heaven to see Grandpa! If you've lived a bad life and believe you deserve to be punished for all eternity, congratulations! You're going to be punished in hell. If you believe in reincarnation, etc. Belief is literally what makes everything work.
