For more detail though, I dont smile much, but I do work with the public. My job has a fairly strict dress code but the tooth genuinely needs to be crowned (Im an MMA fighter and I constantly spar without a mouth guard). I just enjoy an eccentric/strange appearance. Plus, the white ones stain differently and Id rather have a ridiculous gold tooth than an off color one.

From a dental point of view, don't do this. Bacteria will get all in the grooves and you'll eventually need the tooth pulled.

You'll be fine. I'm a big fan of teeth jewelry, I own two sets of grillz/fronts. People online think gold teeth, or tattoos, or jobs in the sex industry, or whatever is some prison sentence to a life of despair and inopportunity but in reality most people do perfectly fine in life, and 99% of people you meet don't care. But, if you are second guessing this and seeking online opinions you shouldn't do it, but also it's not that serious you can always get the crowns removed or whatever.
