Prequels were awful, but somehow 1000 times better than the disney junk.
I got roped into seeing 7 and thought it was a forgettable/boring/safe reboot of A New Hope, something to get the new generation interested. Rogue One gave me some minor semblance of hope. Then i was roped into watching 8, which was on par with the holiday special.
Didn't see any of the other tripe and not going to ever bother to. Star Wars for me is just the original theatrical trilogy and the pre-prequel expanded universe. There is enough better stuff to waste time on, star wars can be whatever they want it to be since i no longer care.

I heard what Lucas originally intended for 7-9, and it sounded like the worst idea possible. Basically the fantastic journey to meet the midichlorians.
Then i remember watching 7 and 8 and being told 9 involved horses attacking 50000 star destroyers with palpatine after 2 hours of following the McGuffin.

I remember getting really disalusioned with movies and videogames when they went full retard on CGI/graphics over a good story with interesting characters.
Seems now movies somehow have worse graphics than 25 years ago and even worse stories/characters.
I'm sure there are some new classics, but i don't have the patience to sift through the tripe. If in 5-10 years people are still raving about whatever, I might give it a chance.
