Lighting plays a massive role. That image would look like shit if that was white light instead of that yellowish color. Pick you light's color temp and pick furniture that will look good in it. Also make sure your brightness makes sense. In that image it's also on the dim side which works well with the light's color. The lighting makes it feel like it'd be a relaxing space.
The single biggest change I'd make is screening it. Problem with lights and outside is bugs are fucking retards. Hard to enjoy a nice space when you have to swat away flies, moths, mosquitoes, and other annoying insects drawn to light or you and have to deal with tons of spider webs because those crafty fucks know light means prey.

For decks tables with umbrellas alongside a nice grilling spot are a pretty common way to go. Shade sails are also a solid choice to help make the space more enjoyable. Hot tubs are always a solid choice if you can find one that fits with the rest of your furniture and decor. Again, pay attention to your lighting and colors. Don't do it slapdash, plan the layout and everything to fit whatever "vibe" you're looking for.
