The only redeeming things were the Umbridge and Bellatrix actoresses. Holy shit this movie is so bad.

I don't think I watched the movies past the third one. They weren't very good. The first six books were great fun as a kid/teen, but book seven was such a letdown that it make me stop caring about the series forever. Underwhelming. 5/10.

It is a kid's show, they can't use violent spells. I agree the combat in Harry Potter leaves a lot to be desired but it isn't a rated R action movie.

Did you ever watch the old GI Joe cartoons? Massive battles and nobody ever dies. Everybody always bails out of every vehicle and aircraft that is destroyed. No infantry ever actually gets hit by the thousands of shots flying back and forth. Kids shows are ridiculous.

yeah 5 is a fucking lame ass movie. i guess the book is better. more in depth so nothing seems convoluted like the movie.
half blood prince makes up for it though. it brings back just a tiny bit of whimsy that 1-4 had before 5.

but yeah ultimately HP isnt all that interesting for drama once youre not a kid. gotta grow up and watch some sopranos or something

they should just use adults to do mocap and then just use AI to make the show. Also the film was so dumb. That part where the rat dude turns human and the kids get in trouble and get scared, then Snapes comes in out of no where and beats the rat dude. That was so bad.

At the time the harry potter gang did crazy shit like take on a troll and a basalesk even play live chess where you could die, but they get scared of some random dude who turns into a rat.

My girlfriend recently had me watch the Harry Potter films for the first time, and I agree—Goblet of Fire felt like a predictable drag to get through.

Apparently, a lot of great content was cut from the book, which might have helped the pacing. The film had long stretches that dragged, combined with other parts that felt obviously rushed.

I also wasn’t a fan of Deathly Hallows: Part 1, though I understand why it was necessary.
