You know how on reddit or twitter you can watch a YouTube video someone posts without even leaving reddit? That's called an embed. You are watching YouTube, but doing so on another site. Twitch has this feature for streams. So when you have a website, say a wiki for a video game, the owner of that site can put a twitch embed on so anyone looking up dark souls wiki will load your twitch embed and therefore count as a view. Fextralife was known for this.
