i thought floaters was bad until I got tinnitus. at least my tinnitus subsides from time to time. so yeah, my plan is the same, maybe save for "retire" for a couple of years before doing the deed
Hearing protection is very important. Also learned the hard way but it seems to have not gotten to the point of being constant for me. It was quite bad for a while, now it's gone down. But I have actively protected my ears.

Imagine your tinnitus as a perfect wife, always by your side, always faithful and never going to leave you and gives you a whole lot of sleeples nights. the same noice level as a real woman. that image of my tinnitus made living with it bearable.

Oh gawd, fuck that. I'm sorry you're in pain. I know alot of people don't subscribe to old wive's tales, but some warm oil (¿olive?) in the ear did help me one time.
Protect your ears and avoid unnecessary loud sound exposure. Sometimes the tinnitus is temporary and disappears after a few months or at worst years. You also get used to it.

Tympanoplasty in my right ear. Constant ringing. Get bone conduction headphones, put on tranquil music, ringing gone, and I can still hear. White noise machines also help a lot.
