Tech That's Too Good to be True
I've come across a lot of liars on the internet who promote technology that's not as good or as available as they say it is, beware of YouTubers 4chan. Here's a thread for me to talk about it and feel free to do the same yourself.

Basically any crypto that's not ETH/BTC.
The only worthwhile ones are futures markets for trading on blockchain, they can easily be bypassed with VPN and let people trade unrestricted (doing that with CEX is a way bigger risk cause they get audited hard)

A simple check at (insert coin here)/BTC will show this. Just look at LTC/BTC. Even the devs cannot cope. It used to be sad when I had hope in crypto, now it's hilarious.

I can't remember their names but I never forgave the YouTubers that made me buy minidiscs. They're a great recording format but they're not as available as they made them seem anymore. I wasted so much time and money only to have to trow them away becuse I couldn't find a recorder that worked.
Densel No.939452252 [Report]
Not only are all of the minidisc recorders out there broken and incomplete items sold at high prices by scammers but they need a special mic to work which usually doesn't come with it >:( thouse bastard YouTubers didn't mention that.,

Zip drives didn't get enough love in their day.

They were based. Zip could reboot their brand with SD cards and rugged offline e-reader/media players.

I had a Zip drive. Internal, ATAPI connector, essentially a (relatively) huge FDD. Probably still have it, in the original machine, if I dig around a bit.

And I also used a Jazz drive (usual external Parallel-Port version).

But I also had a Clik! drive, PCMCIA 'housing', insertable/ejectable 'card' for the laptop (either alongside or instead of the network/modem cards) which then took a Clik! disk, about the size of a large coin that could *greatly* increase the laptop's storage space (or let you easily transfer it to another laptop), to the tune of 40MB. Yes. *forty* megabytes! Imagine that!!

Not suggesting any of this as candidates for the OP, though. They were all very good for their time. But thought I might put things in perspective. I wonder how many people reading this were even born when they were available? Or, indeed, whilst they were still reasonably practical storage/transfer solutions.

Another thing you shouldn't fall for is the Famicom Basic set or thew Famicom Disc System.

I still have both parallel port and SCSI IP drives.

The few YouTube videos and web pages about it all paint the famicom basic like a fully functionally, fully programmable 80s computer but really it's just an expensive toy that can only function as a calculator and do very few BASIC functions.
