Ostensibly, because these stories would cause a surge of racism. The problem is that modern liberal democracies are fundamentally illiberal. Certain information, though true, is bad, wrong, evil, dangerous, and must be controlled, for example, black on white crime rates. You can be banned on reddit and many other places for even mentioning it.
Inevitably, liberal society must recontextualize it as
>Socioeconomic factors
and when these fail, finally
>systemic bias
Yet no systemic bias can be found; the proof of this systemic bias is that the results do not match the expected ones. This starts as an ad hoc rationalization
>Even controlling for socioeconomics, they commit more crime
and must be solved by pseudoscientific and circularly reasoned concepts
>The reason the results do not match my expectations is systemic racism!
>The proof of systemic racism is when the results do not match my expectations!
So they ensure their "theory" is unfalsifiable.
