it's called prompt emphasis
basically if you want a tag or part of a prompt to have more impact on the overall image generation
(XYZ:1.1) will add more weight to the tag, while (XYZ:0.8) will tell the model to not have that much focus on that particular tag, you can use this in case you notice a particular tag having overwhelming presence in the image, when you don't want it
the prompt order is also important, because tags used at the start of the prompt have more "weight" than the ones used at the end (or at least until you hit the 75 token mark, afterwards they get reset)
you can reset prompt token mark by adding BREAK and then adding the rest of your tags

It's dependent on the text encoder, for clip it is absolutely a thing, newer models use other encoders that have less importance on the position in the prompt.

I think that's the wildcard notation for comfy
It picks at random one of the elements in there
A1111/Forge/reForge has a plugin for wildcards where you just put everything in a file line by line and access it with __filename__ in the prompt, and it just picks a random line
for poses just think of the pose you want, and add "pose" to it, or describe it example: "face down ass up"

GPU is the most important thing. I'm running on 4070ti and it's already bit lacking. can't really go beyond 1024x1024 (or variations of same pixel count) without risking crashes.
Though if you are ok with using some older models, like SD 1.5, that work best on smaller pixel counts, then you can get away with lesser tech.

I was doing gens on a 2070 with 8gb before I upgraded. Should be fine. Get as much vram as possible. Loading models is a big bottleneck on the lower end.

vram > gpu > cpu, typically you want at least 8gb vram, you can barely stretch with less but its hell, slow, and absolutely no upscaling. 16 is fine for 90% of needs i have 12(16 integrated) and have no problems genning though i can't gen and game at the same time without major stuttering and nigh crashing

Maybe you can stick to SD 1.5 on a weaker Nvidia card, but keep in mind it optimally works on half the resolution (512x512 or variations of the pixel count) and any realism will look like dogshit, so you'll have to stick to anime/drawing

You don't need a high end one at all, anything from the 2000 series or newer will work. The person who said they're using a 4070Ti and having problems with anything higher than 1024x1024 is doing something wrong, I have a 3070 and can go way higher than that with no problem, and then I can go nearly double after that with HiRes Fix

8GB VRAM is fine for image gens and upscaling so long it is SDXL. This image here was done on my 3070. It started at 1024x1280 then had face detailer a 1024x1024 then upscaled by 2x without the ultimatesdupscaler tool so one go then face detailer again ending with a flim grain pass.

Illustrious is based on SDXL, which is relatively old. Newer ones include Flux, Qwen, and Wan, and variations on those.
