Married men plz answer
Girlfriend sent me a link with a $7500 wedding ring and says THIS IS THE ONE.
If I chose any other ring will she forever resent it? We are getting married in a courthouse so it's the only expense.

>getting married in 2025

being able to talk about financial matters is pretty important in a marriage. if that'll actually fuck you around financially, its good to mention it to her. if you need to you can phrase it as 'we can do this, but that'll mean no vacation/honeymoon/cant get that new car we were discussing until we build up savings again, how do you feel about those options?' and let her have some input on where your money is going

Depending on where you're getting it from you can also usually get a ring for lower than list price - I got mine for 50% off, but I was relatively flexible. at most jewellers you might be able to knock 10-20% off that total by asking.

I HAVE the money, I just think it's too much for jewelry.
$7500 is actually the 25% off price :/
But you are right, I should say "this is about $5000 more than I wanted to spend, are you sure you don't want to save it?"

Should spend every last cent on it and be grateful she only wants what you can buy.

send gf a link to a fully equipped S&M dungeon and say THIS IS THE ONE. She'll say that's ridiculous and not taking her seriously. respond that a $7500 wedding ring isn't taking you seriously. negotiate. settle on a $3000 ring and monthly gangbang sessions.

take pic of ring to actual legit big name corporate industrial jeweler. get it made for 2500.
take pic of ring to pawnshops. find ring. pay 500. get invoice that says 7500.
how drained does she leave you? how drained do you want your bank account?

Besides this ring, I basically buy her nothing but food

>get it made for
>pawnshops

this is terrible advice, the first is unrealistic, the second is taking a shotgun, pointing it at your dick and pulling the trigger

no but a pawnshop ring will inevitably come up from her friends especially when it's not the ring she asked for in the first place
you sound like a newfag in real life

Go to a jeweller and get it made there instead of from a company.
Substitute natural diamonds for lab grown ones.
The ring I got for my wife is valued at 6,600 and I paid 3,200 for it.
Jeweller said it'd be a 10,000 dollar ring if we went for natural diamond.

she will 100% resent you for getting the wrong ring but she might try to hide it. women are very materialistic and need to show off to other women

Valuation.
Post a pic of the ring she sent, OP.

Final thing to note, go for 14k gold if it's gold. Anything higher will be softer and prone to scratching for no real visual difference. My jeweller's advice.

Sucks to be you. My wife wanted a $500 ring and said she didn't want anything more expensive because she wanted to use the money for a down payment on our house. She said she would be mad if I got something more expensive. It was a simple gold band with a small solitary diamond. Made me love her even more.

Valuations are total horseshit and just to trick you into thinking you are getting a good deal. It is like going to a used car lot and seeing a car marked down from $15,000 to $7,500. The con artist dealer will tell you it is a 50% off deal! Meanwhile car is really worth $5,000.

Why do you think they call it JEWelry?

Don't do it. It's a trap
Anonymous No.939524453 [Report]
>>939524237
Well, the jeweller said the valuation was for insurance purposes.
I'm only really showing it to let OP know the prices he saw are horseshit and if he goes to someone who knows what they're doing he can get it for much cheaper than whatever his gf sent him.

How old is she OP? It scares me the idea of falling in love with someone and being peak in love at 22 and then suddenly in a blink you're both 32 and her looks have gone and you're financially tied to her and she gets more annoying by the day and you start wanting her to fuck off more and there is no escape... the girl you dreamed of, being all yours is now boring to you and you thought that love would last forever and your love would continue growing...

yeah, artificial is roughly half the price of natural for a similar stone. If you don't think she cares, its a great option.

that's a nice looking ring anon, you chose well

Thanks! My wife is the kind of person who didn't care what I gave her.
My mom was the kind of woman who said "Just give me the cash and I'll take care of the ring." She knew what her style was and what she wanted.
Mind you, it was the 80s and they were telecom execs, so they had the cash to throw around. If OP's in the same position and his gf knows that he'd be willing to drop the cash, that may be why she suggested the pricey ring; personal circumstances matter.
I wanted to get something I could be proud of giving my wife, something that would make my parents proud to see on their daughter in law's finger.
Same woman who did my mom's ring did my wife's.

If she really wanted to be with you for ever it wouldn't matter what ring she gets or any at all. Yes, girls like that actually exist.

Trust me. She is not the one. You deserve better.

I told my buddy and his girl to go to Vegas and get married. They went to courthouse and did it to save money. I told them it's your day but 25k party or new car/mortgage payments is better after the day. She said all that matters to her is being his wife. I told him lock that shit down and he made her make a baby

Get a .25c one from the whirlie gig chucker at a mall or Wallgreens.
She wont be able to tell the difference.

I say this honestly as a man happily married with kids nearing 40
>don’t get her the ring
>plot twist get her the ring you want and if pressed you get to say “this is the symbol that I feel best conveys our love”
And she will 100% try to gaslight a fight
>US modern women are shit tier now best of luck anon

That is one of the biggest possible red flags a female to throw. A girl picking her own engagement ring, and showing you her choice is the absolute tackiest thing a woman can do. Giving you advice on style, stones, and settings are one thing. But to outright pic a ring for themselves is exactly that. "Ooo look at this shiny thing, buy it for me." That sums up their vapid approach to your relationship as a whole. It's not a matter of price. It's a matter of you knowing them well enough to make the right choice for yourself. Run, /b/rother. Run fast.
