Posting because apparently I can't open threads
I'm an italian lurker that rarely posts, but in all this time, I've never seen a thread talking about this subject by euro/pol/acks and it's incredible.
Either it's being insta-pruned by janitors, or no one knows about it and it's a big issue.
>What is Chat Control?
It's a new EU attempt to read all our private chats, files being sent and everything in past, present and future, by allowing probably backdoors to let EU decrypt comunications, so exposing also to hackers this possibility. Yes, they will be able to read everything in real time.
This is being masked as an attempt to "protect children" but we know what it means in reality. This is going to be approved THIS OCTOBER, and the majority of the european deputees are in favour.
>What can I do to block it?
There is already a website where you can read all the informations AND a simple way to contact your politicians. It also shows which nations are opposing it, and which are pushing it (Denmark is the state proposing it):

If no one talks about it, it will pass easily. What we need is SPREADING the news to everyone we know, so at least someone will talk about it, protest about it and maybe even contact their politicians.
Yes, from that website there is an easy way to contact every nation politician and also an easy way to get a template mail to be sent.
