Gun violence thousands of people every year, but still it is a small price to pay to be free. Civilian ownership of firearms is the most crucial check and balance to prevent the rise of another Hitler, Stalin, Mao, Pol Pot, etc. And if that were to happen, then you would see not the deaths of thousand of people from gun violence, but the deaths of tens if not hundreds of millions of people from unchecked state violence.

The needs of the many outweight the needs of the few or the one. Don't get me wrong, the deaths caused by gun violence is a tragedy and those who perpetrate it should be hanged for their crimes, but this is a much lesser evil than having mass murder conducted at an industrial scale by the state. There is no greater mass murderer than Government.

This. Mussolini was a lifelong Socialist. He only had a falling out with other Socialists in regards to his stance on Italian involvement in WW1. He was in favor of it, but other Socialists opposed it. That's the whole schism between Socialism and Fascism in a nutshell. Fascism is just Socialism that is pro-War and militarism. On matters of economics there is no difference.

Treaty of Versailles armaments restrictions have nothing to do with civilian gun ownership, which Hitler promptly banned as soon as he came into power.

Mao did. Stalin came to power through a lot of backdoor politics and shit after Lenin's death. But yeah, the Bolsheviks came to power with guns in the 1917 revolution, sure. But after consolidating power they did not allow anyone other than themselves to have guns. And by the time Stalin took power (maybe even before then) only the state was allowed to have guns.
