British citizens need their firearms back. They should have never surrendered them in the first place. They are powerless with just their words. When people are doing jail time for tweets and Facebook posts, or for silently praying too close to an abortion clinic, or for saying the name Jesus Christ too close to a mosque, those people are already living in tyranny. It hasn't become a particularly violent tyranny yet, but it is tyranny nonetheless. But when the populace is unarmed, the tyrants don't need to utilize a whole bunch of violence.
