We have to start at looking into the 2 cults that the US population follows and I don't mean religion:

The term Whiteness was invented for the soul purpose of dividing the oppress and allowing a section of the oppress to share a title with the oppressors thus raising their status and giving them power over another. This occurred after the Haitian revolution, the rich people needed a self policing population so they raised the status of the "poor whites" dividing the oppressed population to fight against themselves.

Its been that way ever since, that's how The US has won every Culture war. Why so many nations have looked up to American culture and aspired to be it. Its the reason why there's a difference between being "Black" and "African American", Its why we have "Baby Boomers"and "Gen Z".

Its why Fashion has been reduced into (Object)Core, We reduce and repackage everything into a single title, meaning, or purpose. Then sell it to those who are seeking title, meaning, or purpose.

Everyone acts this way because it's the way they want democracy to run.
There are objectively better ways, if you're a voter. If you are influencing politics, this is the ideal scenario for you.

It creates a feedback loop in which the only way there'd be change, is to be the exact person that wouldn't get in power to enact the change. The greatest democratic reformers, don't participate in democracy.
Democracy is solved. There's no winning for the voter, every system and organisation in place is perfectly placed to keep it standing.

The only thing stopping it from falling apart is the common man not wanting to tear the society it exists above, to the ground. (Using America as an example) Unless such disgust in American society comes that Americans are insulted to be referred to as American, the democracy will continue not to serve them.
