>common in the ancient world
If you're going to larp as straight, do not use the "ancient world" as your excuse. You don't have to justify your sexuality with history, it's fine not to be straight. Straight has a very specific meaning, no need for word games.
But seriously don't use historic relationships for justification of your sexuality. Aside from not needing to justify it, the "homosexual" relationships you're referring to wasn't consensual between adults.
It was pederasty, it was an older man only offering his teaching in skills to a young boy in return of sex because their view of sexuality was the bottom is the lesser man. By raping the boys they taught, socially their student couldn't ever surpass the master, the student/victim was always lesser than the man who taught him but better than the boy he would rape in the future.
It really makes me sick when people down play the horrific nature of ancient sexual "fluidity." It was always rape, it was always done to shame the bottom and millions of victims are having their rape paraded as a good thing. It's horrible.
