Mature, and mid to late adolescent, males are easily able to distinguish between the "urgent need to urinate" sensation and the feelings that they experience as they approach the "point of no return", beyond which the onset of orgasm ...
(and ejaculation if old enough to do so)
... are inevitable.
However younger males, who have not yet experienced a sexual climax ("wet" or "dry") often feel as though they need to take a piss as they approach their first few orgasms.
Assuming that their penis is fully erect during sufficiently prolonged masturbation, or similar sexually arousing activity (alone or with a partner) they think they need to go to the bathroom, only to find that they no longer have the perceived urge to urinate, and perhaps lose their erection while trying to pee. Then forget, or reject, the opportunity to continue sexual stimulation to fruition (that they may not even comprehend before experiencing their first orgasm).
Its hardly surprising that this unexpected urge to urinate arises at the moment when ejaculation might otherwise have been expected to occur, since the duct that carries urine from the bladder, thence through the penis via the eurethra, effectively follows a route alongside the duct through which semen from the prostate gland will eventually be propelled into the eurethra during orgasm.
When the male genitals (and "internal plumbing") have matured sufficiently, a pair of "valves" control the fluid flow through the ducts so that urine can only flow easily from the bladder while the penis is flaccid (and semen isn't being actively pumped into the same area) and by contrast urine will not be allowed to flow while the erect penis is being actively stimulated to trigger ejaculation. Same place - similar sensations!
