Ive been to the dentist a shit ton my parents made me go every 6 months like we werent rich but my dad made sure of that at least. Ive never been to the doctors though. Even if you're too lazy to do it all the time or every night just shoot for a few times a week even its better than nothing. Its going to be costly for the work they're about to do on you though. So like normally you need to remove the plaque before it hardens into calculus. That's why they tell you to do a daily floss and twice brush, it clears bacteria, debris, and the plaque that's formed so even if hardens quickly you're getting rid of it before it can transform. You got that hard crusty layer pretty much everywhere except the worn biting surfaces, and bacteria can fester and melt into your teeth those dark pitted cavities, repairable but can undermine your whole tooth and infect once it hits soft root tissue.
