Republicans gave churches tax freedom and defend their pastors from sex scandals and white collar prosecutions. They also then gave the pastors not just the ability, but the instruction, to tell their congregations who to vote for and who to give money to
And churchgoers are the most gullible of gullible, because they have been brought up to never question the person with the microphone.
