well what actually happens is that they are slower, but consistently bumped threads. same thing happens with blacked. an extremely unpopular thread that gets one bump every hour, with a bump limit of 300, will last 300 hours, potentiolly. so youll end up with 5-6 threads of these topics constantly on the board, giving the illusion of popularity, when in reality, the popular threads, the loli shit and the a.i degen stuff hits their bump limit in 2 hours or so and falls off the board. when you enter a tranny thread 36 hours after its been started and bump it, AGAIN, bringing it up to the top of the catalogue, your just doing their work for them, more or less.
same reason /pol/ manages to "thrive" and end up on every board despite their being a global rule agaisnt it. people just cant help but enter them and go "POLITICS STAY ON POL" andddddd bump it to the top and keep it going. its part of not requiring any account/log in, the freedom for them to bump it, and your desire to inadvertently bump it.
if people REALLY did just ignore it, youd have /mlp/, a board that actually mostly self contained. shame, really. isnt it weird? that somehow, /pol/ became worse than literal ponyfuckers?
