The makeup? Deranged.

The behavior? Mentally unwell.

The vibe? Somewhere between Chuck E. Cheese on meth and divorced uncle doing performance art for attention.

They are not funny. They have never been funny. Their only modern use is as horror movie monsters and ironic Halloween memes, and honestly? That’s probably still too much dignity for them.

I guess it's a leftover from the time where they did not know how to handle kids. I am from the 90's and as a kid i even saw shows that had trauma-indicing nonsense. A talking toilet? a big seal with monster eyes that pops up with a extremely heavy voice? bro i was 6, chill the fuck out!

traditional clowns often look goofy as hell or like actual horror fuel.
