>71% of Republicans polled
71% of Republicans said it's either "about the same" or "harder to afford" groceries than a year ago.
71%. That's 7 out of 10 Republicans.

This is what 7 out of 10 looks like. If it was a pie, then that's almost the entire thing. That's a lot of pie.

When you can buy eggs from you next door neighbor and skip the shipping and handling yeah you're getting a better deal than people in the city.

Anonymous No.941057579 [Report] >>941057786 >>941058011

You realize that the only reason most people can afford to live “out in the country” with their chickens and neighbors selling eggs is because their grandparents already owned the land. It’s basically nepotism of the countryside inherited plots passed down like mini fiefdoms. If that kind of privilege were factored into the conversation, it’d make sense why their grocery costs look different. But let’s be honest: almost nobody actually lives in rural America anymore, so pretending that lifestyle represents the broader cost of living is just detached from reality

Modern American farming is almost universally huge conglomerates with massive governmental control. I mean ffs land speculation is the biggest growth sector for farming.
Anonymous No.941058129 [Report] >>941058244
>>941058011
agreed. The “we just buy eggs from the neighbor” crowd is acting like they’re living in some agrarian utopia, when in reality most of rural America is either corporate farmland or land held as investment property. The people who still live there usually only can because they inherited it. The small, local model they’re bragging about barely exists
Anonymous No.941058244 [Report]
>>941058129
Yeah and the lobbyists love to portray it as such, wheeling out these town halls and convincing Americans to bail them out. When in reality they stiffle any grants (look how much usda grants doge cut alone) or resources to start up small scale plans and engage in modern central planning. It's crazy.
So yeah you and I are never going to live that dream unless we are already extremely wealthy and can buy out one of the few small scale ones left.

Farmer Sneed used his own 2 hands. He never needed slavery a day in his life.

>The small, local model they’re bragging about barely exists
on 4 Chan yeah. My friend is literally building a new ranch home right now. He's Jewish though so you can make that excuse.
Anonymous No.941058919 [Report] >>941060837
>>941058311
So instead of addressing the point about inherited land and corporate control, you jumped straight to a racist jab. That kind of comment proves how weak your argument actually is when you can’t defend a position on facts, you reach for stereotypes. Whether your friend is Jewish, Christian, or anything else doesn’t change the reality that rural land ownership overwhelmingly comes from generational transfer, not “hard-working lone farmers.” You just reinforced the point you were trying to disprove
