It was still the most embarrassing moment I’ve ever had naked, but in the end, I actually sorta fun… though it was probably helped by the booze. When you realise you have no choice, you just accept it. It wasn’t something I expected to do when I set out that day, but it was quite a feeling. It was fun to meet people that day and tell them I didn’t have anything to wear, but for that walk back I was alone, so just had to get it over with.
Once I started walking, I kind of just accepted it. Before anyone asks, I never once tried to cover myself, as I know from experience this is a loosing battle. There were quite a few people out and about, so I got a lot of comments and turned a few heads. I frequently got stoped and asked questions obviously, which varied depending on how drunk the people were. Nothing too boisterous happened but it was a different feeling being the only one walking around town nude. The feeling of getting catcalled and cars whizzing past you while butt naked is a strange feeling. I think some people knew the ride had happened that day, so I wasn’t as surprising to some as you might expect.
It was a fun experience that I’d happily do again. It was definitely better not having a bag to carry around and worry about, and I think I’d try and do something similar at other rides I visit. Probably by choosing hotels closer to the starting point in the future. I must admit, the most embarrassing part was probably getting in the taxi with the guys I met on the ride. I didn’t know where exactly we were going, so for all I knew, I could have ended up on the other side of town. It’s an intense feeling of vulnerability, but exciting too.
It probably wasn’t the most public I’ve been naked, nor the most people I’ve been the only one nude around, but the unpredictability and at times great distance from any clothes meant it was one of my favourite experiences I will try and replicate in future.
