Just found out my Dad used one of those stupid DNA ancestry sites to track his heritage.Now I can't ever commit any crimes because they have my atoms on file. Not that I would ever commit any crimes in the first place

I have no idea why people would willingly give their DNA to a company that could very easily go out of business and sell off your most personal of information at a bankruptcy auction.

Now imagine decades from now when processing and matching DNA techniques are improved to the point that a cop can just place a sample in a machine in their patrol vehicle and get the results in seconds.

DNA data is good forever. Even long after you're dead. The only limitation to how it's used is technology.
