I dont. I blame my parents for what they did and myself for my part in things.

But you cannot deny the very strong link between childhood abuse and substance abuse/mental illness/criminal activity as an adult.

There is a clear causality there and neither the donkeys or the elephants are truly trying to rehabilitate anyone even though they do know how and have many successful pilot programs that just never seem to go mainstream.

Prisons in the US are for profit and dirty politicians would rather get that sweet sweet tax monies than actually fix the revolving door system of crime and punishment.
