I just completed Ghosts 'n Goblins (NES). I should move on to Ghouls 'n Ghosts (Genesis). I have no opportunity to beat Super Ghouls 'n Ghosts (Super NES) except on Halloween itself -- unless I want to call in to work or leave the Super Nintendo turned on while I'm gone.

I just got back from seeing Halloween at a local theater. It was a very different experience from when I saw it there nine years ago.

People were laughing and tittering throughout the film at moments like a cabinet door opening itself to reveal a corpse or Laurie carelessly discarding the knife once she thinks she's won.

I wonder what changed. I know that any movie which becomes imitated ad-nauseum will eventually lose some of its power.

I know slasher films in general have been deconstructed, but Scream was 30 years ago. That wouldn't be the difference between 2016 and 2025.

Maybe there were a bunch of twenty-somethings who weren't the right age to view the film the last time that it was showing. (Maybe the theater's alcohol license had something to do with the difference in audience reaction.)
