I think the main reason he's back tracking on it has more to do with the fact that Epstein was an Israeli blackmail asset used to keep their American shabbos goy in line. If there was anything truely bad about Trump in those files Biden would have used that to go after him but that never happened, almost certainly because Trump's relationship with Epstein was largely superficial.

Israel won't let the files be released. It will show Israel was operating the island as a way to get blackmail on people. Epstein wasn't the one calling the shots. He was killed in his jail cell and the footage was magically lost. There are seriously powerful people keeping this contained.
