Move to washington/oregon.
Become a correctional officer.
8 week bootcamp, same as cops take (theirs is longer tho), and start making $7k/month minimum. All the ones I know pull at least $110k-$130k minimum for their second year. Zero skills but you'll definitely see some shit. My favorite story so far is from the guy who had to clean the cell of someone who smeared shit literally all over the walls/ceilling/floor. They gave him rubber gloves and a mop and bucket and spray bottle. That was it.

I don't do drugs and I only have a few beers time to time.
I'm homeless because I have no home and both of my parents died when I was 17 in an accident. No extended family either.

Yep. You kinda have to be IN the prisons to be a CO. Make sure you can pass a background check, can piss clean, and are breathing. My recommendation would be to look up where they put the least violent folks and go there. All the prisons are hurting for COs so you can kind of pick and choose where you want to go. They only do the bootcamps every so often, so you'll have to find something between orientation and actually going, but after that you're set. Good luck!

I've tried to the past couple of years. I get denied because of inexperience, and, mostly, because I'm too old. Being a 40 year old unhealthy guy basically means no blue collar job would want to hire me.
They were on their way home from their anniversary dinner during the winter and while they were passing through some hills their car got covered in snow from a sudden avalanche. By the time they were dug out they had died from the cold.

Anon, many things in life are about the being in the right place at the right time. Just keep at it, you will find something decent.
Most people won't have a good paying job, but you can get one that will pay the bills and have a little left over. It's all about being realistic and putting yourself out there. You can't get valuable xp if you don't try.
