He already did last time he was in office by throwing hamburgers at the walls. Sad part is now he can't even afford hamburgers.

American politics is so fucking funny.
Somehow the Democrats has managed to convince their voters to cry over a renovation of a building, that is possible a cover up for securing the bunker, instead of talking about the Epstein files that they're also on and at the same time they've stopped Republicans from asking about the Epstein files and are defending a renovation while the President is using his term for making money.

Honestly what are the odds that this was planned out together at a private party? They're both too coordinated in creating and maintaining distractions.

>that is possible a cover up for securing the bunker
If that was the case, it would be done with congressional funds, not private donations.

I don't know how your politics works but surely there's a period in which congressional funds aren't publicised if publicising them would announce works on the bunker, allowing foreign agents to try infiltrating companies and announcing to everyone else that the President can't be evacuated as rapidly?
Even if it's not, who cares? The only people who tell you to care are the same people who don't want the Epstein files either.

They aren't played as donors, because part of the checks and balances is that congress controls the money. They could be masked in other budgetary items for the bunker, but the ballroom itself would have no reason to be hidden.

Jefferson greeted foreign dignitaries in his bathrobe while laying the foundations of US primacy. Lincoln once made sandwiches for a visiting delegation. FDR had the UK Royals over for hot dogs as they discussed what to do about Hitler. JFK told a dinner of Nobel and other great scientists they were the greatest grouping of intellectual power the White House had ever seen, except when Jefferson dined. Alone.

Something creative would have been to re-do the first floor of the adjoining Treasury Building if he needed a super-big space.

US traditionally understands real power avoids display. Just MHO. I think the real problem is he didn't follow procedures.

The opinion of future Administrations is irrelevant. Congress wields sole authority over DC and federal property. This Congress may let it lie but is in no rush to grant a retro-active exemption, which he will need. When the GOP is out of power Congress will have a ready-made issue to at minimum order demolition at the cost of those involved, and arrest Trump for destruction of Monuments or even Piracy, and usurpation of Congressional authority.

DC juries will convict.

Like I genuinely hate Trump as a person, but don't the wide majority of us presidents make some changes to the white house?

There's so many valid reasons to not like the guy, him doing renovations doesn't seem like one of them. Like it's a rich guy making renovations to a large but famous mansion, not really something to stop the presses for.

I think the real problem is he sees procedures, regulations, laws, legal precedent, and social contracts as challenges to his primacy.

>and at the same time they've stopped Republicans from asking about the Epstein files
That's not true. The Republicans have been keeping the government shut down so they don't have to swear in the new Dem who's the last signature needed to force Congress to vote on the Epstein files. At this point I'm convinced that Mike Johnson is in the files too.
